Yogi Reads ‘When Things Fall Apart’ Pema Chodron

There are times when we are cleansing and resetting where we are deliberate in our choices. Maybe we do an elimination diet, or make certain that we go to bed at a certain time each night. There are other times when we are drawn to specifics based on a need, a feeling or a vibe. This Yogi Reads was one of those times. I had collected a wonderful group of choices to discuss, then following the group; based on the events going on with the Yoga House (our new future home!), with changes that, as Pema tells us are the norms, this book appeared. It seemed like an ideal time to go for it, to accept this particular lesson.

One of the things that I love about Pema and other spiritual leaders is their wholehearted commitment to be genuine. Are these tasks easy? Is opening oneself up to uncertainty on a daily basis something that happens overnight? No it is not. By explaining her own reaction to her divorce, and her own hardships with moving into a particular monastery, we are able to relate and connect. Being open, allowing things that are hard, whether others would perceive them as so or not, takes courage. It takes willingness, and the results can be astounding.

We hope you’ll join us this Sunday for our discussion! 2-3:30pm Register PLEASE!
