This month we are wading our way into Authenticity. We will be looking at authenticity through the lens of “representing one’s true nature or beliefs; true to oneself or to the person identified.” Finding (or reconnecting with) and being our authentic self are one of the main drivers of the practice of yoga, and what brings many of us to the mat again and again.
So many aspects of yoga connect us to our own authenticity, and we hope that you hear these messages every time you are at Verapose. Whether you are with us for meditation, a workshop, or your favorite asana class, we are always asking that you stay within yourselves, taking what works for you and letting go of the rest. We invite you to stay within your own intention for that particular day. As many of us can attest, there are some days that we feel like pushing the limits. We take the challenges, we build upon our practices and foundations. Other days where all we envision is laying on our mats, soaking in the loving energy of our fellow yogis, and being soothed. And, as with much of life, most days fall somewhere in between.
Navasana, or Boat Pose is SUCH a stunning practice in tapping into the authentic space that we are in, in any particular moment. Sometimes we swiftly settle into a space in this posture, and other days we take it step by step by step. Easing our way into the place that feels right.
Coming into Navasana:
Allow yourself to find YOUR space in this posture, whether it be challenging or or restorative!
