When it comes to clarity there are a LOT of points of contact. When I was getting my Yoga Teaching Certificate, my guru said, “There is nothing more that a Yogi loves more than lists!” and I have learned both in teacher training and in my continued studies that she was right 🙂 And for a practice that is to quiet the mind and REMOVE obstacles, the addition of list after list is amusing to me. That said, the amount of strategies for clarity is in line with the Yoga Sutras, as every strategy is not for every person, and we absolutely should feel welcome to explore. One of these fields of study within yoga falls under Ayurveda.
Ayurveda the five elements are the foundation of all living things. Earth, air, fire, water and ether are what makes up all things. How these present within us is the representation of the doshas. These elements get presented in 3 main categories: Vata, Pitta, Kapha. In the following months we will get into these one by one. For now know that Vata is more associated with airiness, Pitta with heat, and Kapha with groundedness.
Our goal, and where clarity comes into play, is to find out which dosha is our primary, and work to bring our doshas into balance. Now, some people are naturally quite balanced. I am not. When I last took a dosha quiz… in a group 🙂 I was about 60% Pitta! A wee bit more than a third. In our future explorations we will explore by type which poses are good, as well as foods to aide in some balance.
If you are interested in finding out your dosha in preparation:
https://shop.chopra.com/dosha-quiz The Chopra Center has a quiz, you do need to put in an e-mail address to get results. This was my skewed one 🙂

There are some options to see what you MAY want to focus on in the coming month, should you choose to participate in this journey.
