We believe in teaching yoga from a place of love. We see potential in everyone who comes into the Yoga House, and believe that everyone needs to learn, move and absorb the prana (life force) that yoga provides at their own pace. Our students all have unique strengths and gifts and deserve to feel good, peaceful and nurtured. We believe in the power of creating a community that is safe for our family of students to show up, just as they are and shine.

Pose of the Month: Dandasana

When many of us hear the word “Truth” we often have very specific images that pop into our minds. For me it’s Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men responding to Tom Cruise’s “I want the TRUTH!” with “You can’t handle the truth…” There was a time in my life […]

“I’ve been taking classes from Courtney for several years now, and I’d never done any regular exercise before that. She’s a wonderful teacher!  She creates a warm, supportive atmosphere for everyone in her yoga class.  Even a complete couch potato beginner like me felt comfortable from the beginning and motivated to continue. I look forward to each class because with Courtney’s help I’m improving my strength and flexibility, and I always leave class feeling both mentally calm and physically invigorated.”

“Courtney is such a wonderful yoga teacher. Her deep devotion to the practice and to spirit shine through in every word she says. She listens deeply for guidance and to the needs of her students and the result is a beautiful blending of words and poses to support body, heart, mind, and spirit. I always leave her classes feeling renewed, relaxed, and refreshed, and I see the same in the faces around me. I am so grateful for her care and contribution to my deepening practice.”

“I have been taking Courtney’s Restorative Yoga class for a few years now. Her class focuses on breathing techniques, purposeful relaxation, flexibility, strength, and mindfulness. Courtney encourages her students to not take themselves too seriously; smiling and laughter seem to occur in every session. At the end of each class, I feel renewed and energized. I have never before been able to stick with yoga classes, but Courtney has changed that. She’s a joy and an inspiration.”
