We believe in teaching yoga from a place of love. We see potential in everyone who comes into the Yoga House, and believe that everyone needs to learn, move and absorb the prana (life force) that yoga provides at their own pace. Our students all have unique strengths and gifts and deserve to feel good, peaceful and nurtured. We believe in the power of creating a community that is safe for our family of students to show up, just as they are and shine.

Pose of the Month: Anjaneyasana – Low Lunge

There are so many searches for meaning. I know that I am not alone in my desire to linger in both the Self-Help and the Philosophy section in my local bookstore. There is a fascination with Truth and Meaning, which is likely how these words ended up together in our […]

Meditation of the Month: Equanimity

This month is all about Meaning. We spent the longest month of the year (oh was that just me… me and Courtney 🙂 looking into paths to our own truth. As we discussed, we all have many pathways to truth, and yoga ultimately believes that we all have a connected, […]

Yoga Philosophy: Yamas – Asteya

We are continuing our philosophical journey this month, and there we are looking at Asteya or ‘Non-Stealing’ There are times when we think of this as only literal stealing, the taking of a material object from another, and in the yogic sense, this can be limiting. (Not to minimize stealing […]
  • "Verapose Yoga House is the perfect place for self-care: the space is light-filled and beautiful; the instructors are caring and knowledgable; and, the other yogis are friendly and kind. I feel a sense of belonging and calm every time I walk through the door. After class, I carry that with me back out into the world." - Melissa

"I am not the typical image of a yogi (age, body type) but I have found my home at Verapose. I love the teachers, the ambiance, the choice of classes. My life has never had a regular rhythm or schedule so I really appreciate that I can drop in on one of the many classes offered each week. I have so much less back and hip pain from gentle stretching and movement – and the mindful environment. Thank you Verapose!"

"I have been fortunate enough to have attended several sound journeys at Verapose Yoga. I find it to be a very healing, nurturing experience that is both relaxing and energizing at the same time. Victoria is like a musical hummingbird flitting around the room weaving in her various instruments - gongs, singing bowls, chimes and more - All beautiful, all unexpected and somehow all necessary. I leave feeling as if I’ve have had a mini vacation. A wonderful way to start the week! I highly recommend!!!"

"Teacher Training has been a revelation in my understanding of yoga. Courtney and Katie are knowledgeable, experienced, and just fun to work with.  They guided us through the many aspects of yoga training with humor and compassion. This is a great program and I highly recommend it."
