Courtney Fitzpatrick, MA, RYT-500, founder of Verapose Yoga
Yoga has been a genuine life saver for Courtney! She was introduced to yoga at 17; along with talk therapy and chiropractic care, yoga helped her heal from an eating disorder and jump-start the recovery process. Yoga is the one true thread that’s allowed Courtney to come back to herself over and over again. She does not take a one-size-fits-all approach within her teaching, and finds joy in sharing yoga with yogis of all sizes, abilities and backgrounds. She loves teaching all ages, but especially loves working privately with women who who wish to reclaim the connection to themselves. Courtney has her Master’s Degree in Arts Administration (formerly a fundraiser), RYT-200 with Jonny Kest in 2010, RYT-500 with Saundarya O’Connell in 2015, Reiki I and II in 2004 with Ray Golden and Reiki III Master Level in 2017 with Frans Steine, Birth and Postpartum Doula training in 2016 with DONA and ProDoula, and is the owner of Verapose Yoga Studio in Dexter, MI since 2015. When she’s away from the studio you can find her spending time with her family of 3 boys, their pound pup Tai and her husband, whom she met on an adventure in Colorado.
In her own words…
The 3 words that best describe me… determined, generous, loving.
On my playlist right now… The Reverb Junkie, Sia, Thievery Corporation, (ok and maybe a little Taylor Swift too!).
I rejuvenate by… cranking up some music and having a dance party in my kitchen either with my guys, my kooky dog or solo – usually with a cooking utensil in hand.
Lately I’m inspired… by stories about fearless women entrepreneurs from all over the world living their dreams to the fullest.
My favorite asana… Shirshasana – headstand, which is strength building to the max, drops me back into the present moment instantly and is a perfect way to flip perspective!
I knew I wanted to be a yoga instructor… when I decided I wanted to deepen my own practice and do authentic, soulful work by helping others to tap into their own intuitive wisdom and healing potential.
My favorite quote… “How you do anything, is how you do everything.” ~Author Unknown
