The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "spiritual/universal" and Ki which is "life force energy." Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" at the first, Shoden, level and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive.
We offer three levels of Reiki Practitioner Training - Level I: Shoden or "First Teachings," Level II: Okuden or "Inner Teachings" and Level III: Shinpiden or "Mystery Teachings." Students (new and those coming to us from other training programs) proceed through the levels sequentially, to reach the Shinpiden, Master Level III. Each level includes a manual and continuing education opportunities.
And, we welcome our own previous Reiki students to repeat any level, for a small fee.

Shoden is a Japanese word meaning
‘first teachings’.
It is the first level of teachings in the traditional Japanese branch of Reiki called Usui Reiki Ryoho.
We learn traditional Japanese meditation techniques, the history of Reiki and gain a clear understanding of energy work. We will also learn to practice on ourselves and share Reiki with others.

Okuden Reiki Level II is designed for those who have completed Reiki Shoden Level I and who are ready to deepen their experience and knowledge.
We learn how to send Reiki remotely, we learn three different symbols which change the landscape of your connection and experience with Reiki, and we learn how to Reiki situations etc. - for the highest and best to occur.

Intended for those who have already received attunement at the Okuden Reiki II Level of the Usui Reiki Ryoho tradition.
We will dive into these ancient mystery teachings further, learning the final 4th Shinpiden symbol as well as the process of attuning others. This is for students interested in practicing Reiki professionally, as well as helping others learn to practice Reiki and anyone interested in deepening their connection to Reiki energy.
